Honestly, I think people 'think' that they understand how to use social media and they 'think' they are using it effectively BUT, it's not as simple as just posting something and people will see it. Social media has evolved and all of the platforms have just 1 thing they focus on.. making money! They are NOT here for us. They did not just develop their site/platform out of the kindness of their heart to help us 'freely' advertise our businesses. They want (and need) to make money. If we don't have our channels set-up correctly and we are not posting content that people like and engage with, the platform moves on and finds other channels/accounts that are doing it correctly and have the engagement. So why does this matter to the social media platforms? Because they make money the longer people stay on them!

So, let's get to the point.... Facebook knows what you post.. and when you post it... and how you post it.... they do this 'automatically' with what is commonly referred to as the 'algorithm' - Learn More About The Facebook Algorithm. So, for those of you that are already on social media and just keep posting the same thing over and over again (copying and pasting the same text -or- uploading and sharing the same photos over and over again day after day) well guess what, doing that is NOT social media and doing that Does Not work... it does not work with the Facebook algorithm and it does not work with people..... the algorithm does not like repetitive stuff and neither do people. Facebook wants to keep people on Facebook... they don't want people going anywhere else for their news, stories, etc... So, they keep an eye on posts that get "engagement" (likes, comments, shares, etc) and they keep an eye on the "mouse clicks" as well.... how long is a user staying on that piece of content? how long is a user staying on a page? how many people interact in a page? and so on and so on... probably hundreds of things the algorithm keeps track of but especially the top important things like "likes and loves and comments and shares and view time."
